Barcelona Nightlife: The Catalan capital is synonymous with nightlife and entertainment for all ages. Let's take a look at the best Barcelona has to offer its visitors: the best nightclubs, the city's nightlife districts, and its famous alcohol-fueled bar tours!
Barcelona Nightlife
Barcelona offers a wide variety of bars, clubs, and venues offering all kinds of music. Its atmosphere is lively and different every night, especially on weekends, when the city is much busier!
Nightlife in Barcelona starts late: people have dinner at 11:00 PM, after which it's customary to meet up with friends and wander from one club to another (called "ir de copas" ), until they reach a nightclub, ready to dance until late. The city's nightclubs get crowded very late: in fact, the evening starts around 2:00 AM and often ends the following morning.
The Catalan capital is famous for being a party city, full of young people who love to have fun and with clubs to suit all tastes, from beach clubs on the seafront to top-notch discos, some of which are almost unknown to tourists, who generally flock to the more famous clubs.
On the main nights (Saturday and Sunday), electronic music , with various international DJs performing in the most prestigious clubs: among them Paul Kalkbrenner, Justice, Steve Aoki, Digitalism, 2ManyDjs, Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Tiga, Yall, and Franz Ferdinand. Furthermore, Sónar , a major international electronic music festival, takes place right here in Barcelona.

Barcelona also offers alternative options for those who aren't into electronic music: the city boasts several clubs playing alternative music, ranging from pop-rock to indie. Thursdays are dedicated to alternative music, attracting a large crowd to the various pubs and clubs.
Most nightclubs in Barcelona offer free entry before a certain time (usually 1:00 am), or you have to pay, with prices varying depending on the night or whether the club is hosting an international DJ or a particular event.
Along La Rambla and in the Gothic Quarter, you may encounter PRs handing out flyers that will allow you to enter clubs or receive discounts and free drinks. In some cases, you can find them right in front of the nightclub.
A good alternative to avoid lines is to go to restaurants that transform into nightclubs after dinner, so you're already inside and don't have to pay an entrance fee. To get in for free, you must arrive at the club very early, while the place is still empty. You must also be dressed elegantly or fashionably, and not appear drunk, otherwise you risk being kicked out. A tip: buying tickets online is a great way to avoid lines and ensure your entry (plus, you often get a drink included in the price).
An important focus of Barcelona's nightlife are the many jazz clubs , which offer quality concerts year-round. The most important event is the annual Jazz Festival , during which you can attend impromptu concerts in the city streets. There are also numerous pubs and clubs offering live music, with rock and pop concerts, as well as soul, Afro, and garage music: interesting options for those who want to dance until late but aren't fans of electronic music.
The luckiest ones will be able to spend an evening If you want to test your luck at the slot machines and roulette, you can head to the Barcelona Casino , located in Port Olimpic, one of the most famous nightlife districts in Barcelona.

As you'd expect from any self-respecting Irish pub, there's an abundance of live sporting events, including football, ice hockey, and rugby. Also very popular is their hilarious weekly Beer Pong , held every Thursday from 10:00 pm, or Ladies Night (every Friday), where ladies pay just €3.50 for drinks all day until closing time! Flaherty 's regularly hosts parties and events with live music and drink promotions.

Cat Bar ![]()
(c/Boria 17, Barcelona) Open Monday to Wednesday from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM, and Thursday to Saturday from 12:30 PM to 11:30 PM.
The main theme of Cat Bar is, as the name suggests, cats: A clock with the face of a giant cat hangs on one wall, while cheap plastic felines from China wag their paws in front of you, and various photos and memorabilia featuring cats are placed all around, embellishing the rest of the bar. Cat Bar is also the only vegan restaurant in Barcelona , and on the menu you'll find delicious vegan tortillas and quiches (secret recipe!), burgers and sausages, homemade cakes, breads, and smoothies, all served until closing. You can also order four different types of craft beer.

Marmalade ![]()
(Carrer de la Riera Alta 4-6, Barcelona) Open Monday to Thursday from 6:30 pm to 2:00 am, and Friday to Sunday from 10:00 am to 3:00 am.
One of the most sophisticated cocktail bars in the Raval neighborhood, Marmalade has managed to create an elegant yet unpretentious atmosphere that attracts a diverse crowd. The stylish decor, with red brick floors and walls and murals, perfectly complements the delicious menu of original cocktails. Meanwhile, a stunning matte black pool table offers the perfect opportunity to socialize.

Slow Cocktails & Boîte ![]()
(Carrer de París 186, Barcelona) Open Monday to Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 5:00 AM, and Thursday to Saturday from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
Original cocktails, low lighting, excellent service, and vintage decor make Slow Barcelona the perfect place to relax with a tasty drink and sample some Spanish delicacies. Upstairs, there's a small club where you can dance to pop, indie, electro, and R&B. A room can also be rented for private events.

Shenanigans Pub ![]()
(Carrer Marqués de Barberá 11, Barcelona) Open daily from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
Formerly known as “The Quiet Man ,” this venerable Irish institution has been serving pints of stout for twenty years and recently changed ownership, renaming itself “Shenanigans .” While the pub’s original charisma hasn’t changed (thirsty travelers are still welcomed in traditional pub booths with glass partitions), in its new incarnation, Shenanigans is undoubtedly younger and livelier. The bar offers more than 20 different beers, including the cheapest Guinness in Barcelona (€4 for a pint) as well as great craft options like Sierra Nevada Pale Ale , Brew Dog , and Barcinos . Other great deals include gin and tonics for €4, five buckets of beer for €10, and the popular 1-meter-tall beer tower (€18) for challenging your friends to a boozefest. On top of all this, Sheanigans has five large TV screens for watching live sports, as well as pool tables and foosball tables for socializing.

La Cigale ![]()
(Carrer Tordera 50, Barcelona) Open Tuesday to Sunday from 6:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
La Cigale is a beloved bar spread across two floors. The first floor is reminiscent of a Parisian café, with its round tables, lively atmosphere, and curious décor, including vintage toy cars and religious icons. The upper floor is more spacious and filled with a delightfully chaotic mix of shelves, antique portraits, kitsch objects, furniture, and sewing machines. The pub offers football-sized burgers, fresh fruit daiquiris, bottled craft beers, and hosts concerts, exhibitions, and events.

The Loch Inn ![]()
(Passeig Sant Joan 74, Barcelona) Open Sunday, Monday, and Thursday from 6:00 PM to 1:30 AM, Friday from 6:00 PM to 3:00 AM, and Saturday from 1:00 PM to 3:00 AM.
The Loch Inn is a great English pub in Barcelona offering tasty food, an unbeatable selection of drinks, and live sports, without the hordes of drunk tourists and overly inflated prices.
Maumau Underground ![]()
(Calle de Fontrodona, 35, Barcelona) Open Thursday to Saturday from 9:00 PM to 2:45 AM.
Located five minutes from Paral-lel, Maumau Underground is a popular spot for trendy people, well-dressed artists, students, and young professionals who gather on weekends, sipping gin and tonics or vintage cocktails like Moscow Mules or Sailor Jerrys . The bar is furnished with low white sofas, pop art, bamboo poles, and a canvas ceiling. The background music focuses on funk and rare grooves. For film buffs, short film screenings are held on Thursday evenings.
