How to get to Vilnius by plane
Vilnius International Airport (VNO) is located about 7 km south of the city, and is well connected by public transport, by which it is possible to reach the historic center in about 15 minutes.

Getting to Vilnius by car
You can reach Lithuania from Poland or Latvia by road network. The speed limits, which are 50 km/h in urban areas, 90 km/h on dual carriageways and 130 km/h on motorways (110 km/h during the winter months).

Getting to Vilnius by bus
For those wishing to reach Vilnius from surrounding countries (such as Latvia, Estonia and Poland), the most convenient solution is the bus.
The Eurolines company offers excellent connections with Lithuania from major European cities. Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn are connected to each other by a good bus service, and you can move from one city to another for little money and in a short time (3-4 hours to reach Vilnius from Riga). Getting to Vilnius by train
Reaching Vilnius by train from surrounding countries can be a long journey, with many changes and quite expensive.

VILNIUS HOW TO GET THERE: CONNECTIONS FROM AND TO THE AIRPORT
As anticipated, Vilnius airport is well connected and there are many ways to reach the city centre.
By bus
The bus is definitely the cheapest way to get to the city.
To move from the airport to the city center, take either bus number 1 or number 2 on the left side: both arrive at the central train and bus station in Vilnius. The bus stop is on the left as you leave the airport and you can buy the ticket on board (3.50 litas). If you buy your ticket at the newspaper kiosk at the airport entrance (near the information centre) you will save 0.50 litas. Line No. 1 ensures a direct connection between the airport and the bus station without intermediate stops.

By Shuttle
The shuttle service between the airport and the train station runs between 6.30am and 7.30pm, running every 30 minutes. The cost of the ticket is 2 Litas, and can be purchased on board.
By Taxi
At the Arrivals Terminal of Vilnius Airport there are taxis to reach the city center and nearby towns. It is possible to book a taxi at the information point in the Vilnius arrivals terminal: in this way you will benefit from discounted rates. Taxis are certainly the most comfortable and fastest way to get to the city centre. Fares range from 1.5 to 3 litas (0.50 to 1 euro) per kilometre: therefore calculate between 15 and 30 litas to reach the centre. Usually a fixed euro is charged per call.
